Welcome to "The World of Ketaki"

Ketaki Pimpalkhare, a painter, sculptor, model, medical illustrator, video artist, and digital artist. Her diverse body of work encompasses a range of mediums, including oils, acrylics, charcoal, ceramics, tar, and environmental, land, and video art. With solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad, Ketaki has many influences ranging from surrealism to abstract gaining a global language not restricted by culture and nationality.

Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Ketaki completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Art from the Directorate of Art, Bombay’s G.D. Art program. During her studies, she also explored photography at Fergusson College, Pune. After a brief period studying Creative Writing in the UK, she returned to India to obtain a Masters in Fine Arts from Women’s University, Pune. She then worked in advertising and event management before starting to paint in 1999 when she began exhibiting her work in galleries.

Through her art, Ketaki explores the beauty and complexity of the natural world and the challenges facing the environment. Her sculptures, paintings and land art reveal a deep bond with nature and a unique ability to translate the language of the spheres into art that engages and inspires viewers. Drawing on the macrocosm of the environment and nature, Ketaki subtly draws parallels to the human condition, emphasizing the trials and tribulations of the artistic and human experience, as well as the process of evolving and painful learning.

Despite the challenges facing the world today, Ketaki’s art is a beacon of hope, offering a horizon of possibility for the future. Whether through photography, video art, or painting, she breaks free from stereotypes and monotony to create art that speaks to the enduring beauty of the natural world and the power of human creativity.
